The initial appointment will involve your dentist going over with you what you’d like to accomplish with the veneers, and a treatment plan will be created. A second appointment begins with cleaning, and the Calgary dentist determining the correct shade for the veneer to best match your natural tooth colour. A small amount of enamel is removed to adhere the veneer in place. An impression of the tooth is made to create the veneer, and a temporary veneer is put in place until the final veneer is created. This also allows you to ‘test-drive’ the temporary veneer until the real one is ready. When your final veneer is ready, the temporary veneer is removed, and the tooth is cleaned again. The veneer is etched and then rinsed with water and allowed to dry before the cement and veneer is placed on the tooth. The veneer is then light-cured for 60 seconds before the dentist removes any excess material and polishes the veneer.
