Calgary Invisalign

Your Choice for Invisalign NW Calgary!

If you are concerned about crooked teeth or gaps in your teeth, but you want to avoid the look and feel of traditional metal braces, Invisalign might be the answer! Sarcee Dental Clinic is pleased to offer North Calgary Invisalign Invisible Aligners, an innovative and advanced treatment that can discreetly and invisibly help straighten teeth and fix bite issues.

What is Invisalign?

Invisalign Aligners are clear, custom made, plastic, removable trays made of smooth, comfortable, and mostly invisible plastic. They are worn over the teeth and gradually move the teeth into the optimal position outlined by your Calgary Dentist. The aligner trays are changed every week or two. While traditional metal braces are permanently attached to your teeth, Invisalign can be easily removed for eating and brushing, as well as for special occasions, making them highly convenient and aesthetically desirable.

What Does Invisalign Treatment Involve?

Your dentist will first devise an initial plan of what the result will look like. Then a 3D scan of your teeth will be done of the entire jaw, which will allow the dentist to move specific teeth on the screen, view the jaw from different angles, and foresee what the face might look like later on. If you like what you see, the 3D scan of your teeth will be used to create a series of individually customized clear plastic aligners. Typically, there will be 30-40 made, and each tray will be worn for 1-2 weeks. You will see your Nolan Hill dentist every 3 months to check to see if the movement of your teeth matches the movements digitally predicted for your teeth.

What Can Invisalign Correct?

  • Overbite – This occurs when the upper teeth project further than, or completely cover, the lower teeth.
  • Underbite – This is the inverse of the overbite; when the lower teeth project further than, or completely cover the upper teeth.
  • Crossbite – This occurs when one or multiple upper teeth bite inside the lower teeth, which can lead to bone erosion and gum disease because of the uneven wear.
  • Large gaps between teeth – This can occur because teeth are missing or because the jaw continues to grow abnormally.
  • Overcrowding – This occurs when there is too little space for the teeth to align normally in the mouth, which can cause tooth decay and increase the likelihood of gum disease.
